General circulars

General circulars are used by NZTA (formerly Transfund and Land Transport NZ) to directly advise road controlling authorities and regional councils about relevant policy or programme management updates, or to communicate recent Board decisions.

Indicative regional allocations to activity classes

The indicative allocations to each region are stated as ranges. This allows regions to give greater emphasis to some activities (and less to others) to develop an RLTP that best addresses regional priorities and GPS targets.

Regional funding allocations

The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) is providing indicative funding ranges for each region in New Zealand to assist regional transport committees (RTCs) and the Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) develop their funding plan for inclusion in their regional land transport programmes (RLTPs), and to assist them ensure their RLTP is affordable.

Regionalisation of GPS and NZTS targets

The recent launch of the New Zealand Transport Strategy 2008 (NZTS) and the Government Policy Statement on Land Transport Funding (GPS) has created a framework of national targets for transport. The NZTS sets targets for progress across the fi ve transport objectives, mostly to be achieved by 2040. The GPS sets targets to 2015.
