Summary
In 2006, the NZ Transport Agency (formerly Land Transport NZ) reviewed professional services costs for a sample of local authorities. The review focussed on the costs of professional services in relation to the size and use of the roading networks of a sample of city and district councils. Councils policies and practices in obtaining professional services were reviewed.
Eighteen local authorities were approached and data gathered to assess the professional services management practices.
