Theme audit of footpaths, cycle ways and related costs

In October 2008 NZTA published the findings of a theme audit of footpaths and cycleways. In 2006/07 the stock included 24,100 kilometres of pedestrian footpaths and 1,150 kms of cycleways. The theme audit examined age, surface condition, council renewals programmes, management, safety, levels of service and funding.
