Economic evaluation

The evaluation of costs and benefits is detailed in various volumes that make up the Economic evaluation manual. The individual volumes are:

  • Economic evaluation manual - volume one - road infrastructure projects was first published in 2008. This manual is to be used for evaluations started on or after 1 September 2008.
  • Economic evaluation manual - volume one (2007) - road infrastructure projects. The 2007 manual is to be used only for evaluations started before 1 September 2008.
  • Economic evaluation manual - volume two - demand management and transport services was first published in 2009. This manual is to be used for all evaluations in the current programme. If needed, the earlier (2005) manual is available through References.

Updates to the manuals were issued in May 2010. While the manuals themselves have been amended, a summary of the changes is available.
