Planning & funding
The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) is responsible for allocating government funds that are available to approved organisations for land transport. This planning and funding section provides links to resources that help with that process.
Preparing the 2009-2012 programme
Preparing land transport programmes for 2009-2012 is covered by the Planning, programming and funding manual 2008. Section A1.3 of the Planning, programme and funding manual 2008 provides a high-level view of the planning, programming and funding (PPF) process, as follows:
- Develop strategies and plans
- Formulate and assess activities and combinations of activities
- Draft, consult on, assess and finalise the RLTP
- Draft, assess, finalise and adopt the NLTP (PDF 134 KB)
Managing the 2008-2009 programme
Which manual applies
Section 1.3 of the Planning, programming and funding manual 2008 (PPF) states "The NZTA will use the policies and procedures set out in this edition for…approving activities and combinations of activities in the 2008-09 financial year, unless it is impractical to do so".
Transition provisions
A general circular has been issued to clarify the transition provisions (171 KB) applying to the 2008-2009 programme.
